What is Give Kids The World Village?

The most magical sound in the world is that of a child’s laughter.  That is what fills the air at Give Kids The World Village—a wish-fulfilling, fanciful, carefree retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses, and their families.

Give Kids The World Village is a 70-acre, non-profit “storybook” Village located near Central Florida’s most beloved attractions.  Here, children and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free fantasy vacations, complete with accommodations in the Village’s whimsical villas, transportation, donated attraction tickets, meals, and much more.

At the Village, these precious children learn that dreams really do come true, as they and their families are immersed in joy, hope, and non-stop fun for a few unforgettably happy days. Since 1989, the Village has hosted more than 96,000 deserving families from all 50 states and more than 65 countries.

This extraordinary, life-changing experience is Give Kids The World’s gift, made possible only through the generosity of dedicated corporations and countless individuals.

Is Give Kids The World a national charity or Florida-based only?

Give Kids The World welcomes families from all 50 states and more than 65 countries. In 2008, the Village welcomed its first families from Kuwait and Argentina. It is their mission to never turn away a child in need, and we will partner with a wish-granting organization or children’s hospital to help fulfill their Wish trip to Central Florida, no matter where they call home. 

 

If I know of a child who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, can I send them to the Village?

Give Kids The World is not a wish-granting organization. If you know a child who has a life-threatening illness, contact your local wish-granting organization. (Go to website for more information.) Once the foundation has contacted the family, the child has the opportunity to express his or her wish. If the child expresses the wish to visit Central Florida, then Give Kids The World Village is contacted and arranges a joyful, week-long vacation, at no cost to the family.  

 

Is my financial contribution tax deductible?

Yes. Give Kids The World is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. As such, financial contributions may be deductible for federal income tax purposes. Please consult with your financial advisor to determine the extent of your tax benefit.  NOTE:  CFVRMA provides opportunity to participate with financial contributions at each monthly meeting and through other posted opportunities throughout the year.

 

How can I get more involved with Give Kids The World?

There are many opportunities to work as a volunteer. Give Kids The World depends on volunteers, known as Angels, to fulfill over 1,200 volunteer shifts every week.  Click here for more information.
